Why should your children learn Luxembourgish?

The Luxembourgish language is not so popular, but of course, it will be really helpful if you are living in Luxembourg, to get to know better the local culture or to talk in the Luxembourgish language when you are working. If you just moved to Luxembourg and if you want that your children can be able to speak with their classmates or if you want that they can be able to make friendships with local people, they should probably learn Luxembourgish!

Thanks to this course about the Luxembourgish language your children will be able to learn Luxembourgish easily and they will know how to have small conversations with people in Luxembourgish!

What will they learn?

Your children will learn Luxembourgish, they will improve their Luxembourgish language level and they will know how to speak in Luxembourgish. For example, they will learn:

  • 1. Shopping (dialogues) = Akafe goen (Dialog), for example “Can we get some chocolate?” = “Kënne mir Schockela kafen?”;
  • 2. Time for breakfast (vocabulary)= Beim Kaffi (Vocabulaire), for example “knife” = “messer”;
  • 3. On a walk (dialogues)= Spadséiergang (Dialog), for example “Daddy, will you pass me that stick?” = “Pappa, kanns du mir dee Bengel reechen?”;
  • 4. TV time (vocabulary)= Fernsee kucken (Vocabulaire), for example “website” = “Internetsäit”;
  • 5. Time to say goodnight (vocabulary)= Zäit gutt Nuecht ze soen (Vocabulary), for example “Give me my teddy bear.” = “Gëff mir mäin Teddybier.”.
